OVC Calendar of Events iconOVC announces the 2009 dates for National Crime Victims' Rights Week. The week will be observed April 26–May 2, 2009. Save the date for the National Observance and Candlelight Ceremony on April 23 and the Attorney General's Crime Victims' Service Awards Ceremony on April 24.

The International Terrorism Victim Expense Reimbursement Program (ITVERP) reimburses victims of international terrorism abroad for allowable expenses they incur as a direct result of the terrorist act. Find out how to apply for an ITVERP reimbursement.

Applying for HOPE grants is Easy and Effective. 90% of eligible applicants receive HOPE funds.Since November 2002, Helping Outreach Programs to Expand (HOPE) funds have supported victim service expansion efforts such as PSAs, translations, and hotlines. Find out how to apply for a HOPE grant.

Serving Unique Needs: Crime Victims in Indian Country (July 2008)

Save the Date: December 11–13, 2008, when the 11th National Indian Nations Conference: Justice for Victims of Crime will be held in Palm Springs, California. Held every 2 years, the conference brings together tribal service providers, Native American crime victims, victim advocates, and community members. Highlights include:

  • Successful victim programs and strategies.
  • Current information and promising practices.
  • Challenging workshops and plenary sessions.
  • Preconference institutes.

The “Strengthening the Heartbeat of all our Relations” themed conference is coordinated by the Tribal Law and Policy Institute under a grant from OVC. If you have questions regarding this event, please contact conference@tlpi.org

 

Specialized Training Available for Victim Service Providers (July 2008)
