News on NCVRW 2009

OVC is now accepting nominations for the 2009 National Crime Victims’ Service Awards. The deadline for applications submitted by mail is October 3, 2008. Applications submitted using the online nomination form are due October 10, 2008. The winners will be honored at the National Crime Victims' Service Awards Ceremony on April 24, 2009.

OVC is pleased to announce the National Crime Victims’ Rights Week theme for 2009: 25 Years of Rebuilding Lives: Celebrating the Victims of Crime Act, to be observed April 26–May 2, 2009. The theme colors have also been selected.

Publications and Training Materials

Foundation-Level Training Curriculum (May 2008)
Materials from the 2008 National Victim Assistance Academy (NVAA), track 1, which lays the groundwork for building a career in the victim services field. The 12 modules are available in multiple formats: Word, PowerPoint, (PPT) and Portable Document Format (PDF).

Included in this curriculum package is a resource manual covering six victimization topics: child abuse, domestic violence, drunk driving, elder abuse, homicide, and sexual assault.
