Law Enforcement
Crime control and prevention is a collaborative process grounded in innovative scientific research and community-based policing. Law enforcement is challenged not only by the number of crimes but also by the changing nature of the crime landscape. Traditional criminal activities, such as juvenile delinquency, gangs, burglary and violent crime, remain problems for many communities, but law enforcement agencies also face new threats, such as the evolving globalization of crime, the threat of a terrorist attack and cybercrime.
NIJ's law enforcement research meets the needs of the modern law enforcement by developing sophisticated technologies and an international perspective.
