Feature: May is National Drug Court Month

Evaluations of drug courts reveal the promise they hold for reducing recidivism — especially if offenders are correctly assessed before they enter the drug court and they receive appropriate drug abuse treatment.

Offenders report that interactions with the judge are among their most influential experiences while they are in the program.

NIJ-funded researchers will present preliminary findings from a major multisite evaluation at the National Association of Drug Court Professionals annual conference May 28-31.
